God bless thee; and put meekness in thy mind, love, charity, obedience, and true duty!
William Shakespeare

His life was gentle; and the elements
So mixed in him, that Nature might stand up,
And say to all the world, THIS WAS A MAN!
William Shakespeare

I hate ingratitude more in a man or woman
than lying, vainness, babbling, drunkenness,
or any taint of vice whose strong corruption
inhabits our frail blood.

Lady you bereft me of all words,
Only my blood speaks to you in my veins,
And there is such confusion in my powers.
William Shakespeare

Mine honour is my life; both grow in one; take honour from me and my life is done.
William Shakespeare

Leave her to heaven
And to those thorns that in her bosom lodge,
To prick and sting her.
William Shakespeare

My tongue will tell the anger of mine heart, Or else my heart, concealing it, will break.
William Shakespeare

Love is an act of endless forgiveness, a tender look which becomes a habit.
Peter Ustinov

There's always one who loves and one who lets himself be loved.
W. Somerset Maugham

Love is like food, it is prepared, served and shite out.

No lover will ever be true to there words for they are of weak heart and word and they trample both as if they were dirt.

Very Sad

I was a plankowner on the USS Chicago SSN-721 from October 1985-July 1989. I find it sad that our WW2 vets are passing away at an alarming rate. I read an artical the other day which I also found sad. It read that this year would be the last reunion year of the pearl harbor survivors assotiation. It is just sad. I hope someone one day lets people know who I served that I had passed away..

A note left on a message board I belong to

My dad was on the USS Chicago when it was torpedoed
during WWII.

I would like everyone to know that my dad had been very ill with
bladder cancer for the past year. His health had deteriorated at a
rapid pace in the past 2 weeks. I realized on Friday, Dec. 6 that he
was waiting for Pearl Harbor Day.....and he was. He died at 8:01am
December 7, 2006. I just needed to let all of you know.
Please say a prayer for him.

Big And Rich 8th of November

Said goodbye to his momma as he left South Dakota
To fight for the red, white and blue
He was 19 and green with a new M-16
Just doing what he had to do
He was dropped in the jungle where the choppers would rumble
With the smell of napalm in the air
And the sergant said...look up ahead
Like a dark evil cloud, 1,200 came down on him and 29 more
They fought for their lives but most of them died in the 173rd Airborne

On the 8th of November the angels were crying
As they carried his brothers away
With the fire raining down and the hell all around
There were few men left standing that day
Saw the eagle fly through a clear blue sky
1965, the 8th of November

Now he's 58 and his pony tail's gray
But the battle still plays in his head
He limps when he walks but he's strong when he talks
About the Shrapnel they left in his leg
He puts on a gray suit over his Airborne tattoo
And he ties it on one time a year
And remebers that fallen as he orders a tall one
And swallows it down with his tears

Saw the eagle fly through a clear blue sky
1965...
On the 8th of November the angels were crying
As they carried his brothers away
With the fire raining down and the hell all around
THere were few men left standing that day

Said goodbye to his momma as he left South Dakota
To fight for the red, white and blue
He was nineteen and green with a new M-16
Just doing what he had to do...

Trace Atkins Arlington
I never thought that this is where I'd settle down.
I thought I'd die an old man back in my hometown.
They gave me this plot of land,
Me and some other men, for a job well done.

There's a big White House sits on a hill just up the road.
The man inside, he cried the day they brought me home.
They folded up a flag and told my Mom and Dad:
"We're proud of your son."

And I'm proud to be on this peaceful piece of property.
I'm on sacred ground and I'm in the best of company.
I'm thankful for those thankful for the things I've done.
I can rest in peace;
I'm one of the chosen ones:
I made it to Arlington.

I remember Daddy brought me here when I was eight.
We searched all day to find out where my grand-dad lay.
And when we finally found that cross,
He said: "Son, this is what it cost to keep us free."

Now here I am, a thousand stones away from him.
He recognized me on the first day I came in.
And it gave me a chill when he clicked his heels,
And saluted me.

And I'm proud to be on this peaceful piece of property.
I'm on sacred ground and I'm in the best of company.
I'm thankful for those thankful for the things I've done.
I can rest in peace;
I'm one of the chosen ones:
I made it to Arlington.

And everytime I hear twenty-one guns,
I know they brought another hero home to us.

And I'm proud to be on this peaceful piece of property.
I'm on sacred ground and I'm in the best of company.
We're thankful for those thankful for the things we've done.
We can rest in peace;
'Cause we are the chosen ones:
We made it to Arlington.

Yeah, dust to dust,
Don't cry for us:
We made it to Arlington.

The black days are here
Like an old friend for morning tea
The dreams and songs and words scurry in my head
Like the pit and the pendulum
The memories and words swing back and forth
The bell rings the fighter falls
He rises for another blow
The dreams that escape in the cold dark night
Words of sleep escape my lips but are not heard
The angels no longer sail on white clouds
I have forgotten that long dirt road that i will never walk again

The wind blows and the words drift on its waves of air
Lost forever the thoughts and conversations spewed for hours
I cant remember what you look like or how you sound I cant
remember how you you smell or how you feel. I forget the last thing you ever said to me but I remember your look of desperation in that hospital bed looking up to me remembering evering thing but not able to speek to me.

Where are my memories drifting to where did they go
Where are the pictures in my head of the tree out front or
The chase on the porch the big yard your roses the walks in the grave yard the talks of what I would be and your guidance oh how I miss you Dolly more and more each day as I get older I miss you more and just want one more piece of that pie, one more bowl of potatos, on more chocolate mayonase cake One more I love you but most of all laying on that old green couch with my head in your lap after one of the kings beatings and your long Irish fingers running through my hair to calm me.
All this and so much more that I miss I am sorry I cant remember what you look like the pictures are gone I have none of you and me any more i've been raped in a sense the prodical brother has it all they lost me years ago and there is I am afraid no going back there words the day I laid you to rest will always echo in my head..
